Checking 'As a copy' in File > Save dialog does not append 'copy' to the file name.
Manually edit the name and add 'copy', or change the name to something unique.

Cmd+A does not work when selecting media in the Import dialog
Any system dialog, wherein you can select media, does not allow you to select all media by pressing cmd+A.
Navigate to the parent folder and click Get Media. This automatically imports all media in the parent folder.
